The Flash (2023) is a superhero film based on the DC Comics character Barry Allen / Flash. It is a reboot of the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) Flash film franchise, following 2017's Justice League. The film is directed by Andy Muschietti, who co-wrote the screenplay with Christina Hodson. Ezra Miller stars as Barry Allen / Flash, alongside Michael Keaton and Ben Affleck as alternate versions of Batman, Sasha Calle as Supergirl, Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, Maribel Verdú as Nora Allen, Ron Livingston as Henry Allen, and Ian Chen as young Barry Allen. In the film, Barry travels back in time to prevent his mother's murder, but inadvertently creates an alternate timeline in which the Reverse-Flash has become a god-like being.
The Flash is a mixed bag of a film. On the one hand, it has some great performances, particularly from Keaton and Calle.
